About the Artist

John Grancorvitz

For John Grancorvitz, drawing and painting has been a lifelong passion. He can't recall a time when he wasn't either drawing or painting. Early pencil drawings led to scratchboard etchings, which ultimately led to watercolor paintings, which is his primary focus today. John is a largely self-taught watercolorist who has been painting in the media since the mid-90s.

An avid outdoor enthusiast, many of his paintings reflect what he's observed on his numerous bike rides, hiking trips or everyday occurrences. He paints a wide range of subjects from landscapes, pet and people portraits to cityscapes. John also teaches watercolor painting workshops to all levels and is always open for commissioned requests.

An award-winning artist, John has shown his paintings among other places at the Phipps and Kelley galleries in Hudson, Wisconsin. He is also a Signature member of the Minnesota Watercolor Society and NorthStar Watermedia Society.
